Eyeglasses fetishism - Definition and Overview

Glasses fetishism is the name used to describe a fetishistic attraction to people wearing prescription glasses or sunglasses, or in certain cases, to the act of wearing glasses or the glasses themselves.

Although attraction to people wearing glasses is generally not considered to be a form of paraphilia, extreme forms of this attraction appear to be paraphiliac. Some glasses fetishists wear contact lenses of carefully calculated strength in order to enable them to see clearly through strong eyeglasses: this practice is known as "glasses over contacts". Some others go overcorrected for years hoping they will need stronger glasses.

A part of the "hard core" glasses fetishists created Eye Scene community on Internet, a large discussion group, with slang words, trade with glasses, very specific literature (short stories) and art (photos and retouched photos of people wearing strong glasses).
