About FOX-HOUND

In order to cope with local revolutions, regional complications and terrorist activities, a special operations unit called FOX-HOUND was founded in secrecy during the early 1970s. Their agents are trained to infiltrate and carry-out top-secret operations within "unauthorized" combat zones which are too strong to intervene through conventional warfare. Their existence became known worldwide after the "Outer Heaven Crisis" at Garzburg in 1995 and once again, during the "Zanzibar Land Riots" in 1999. They were able to make good use of high-tech equipment in their covert operations, which had a resounding impact on contemporary military strategy, resulting in other special forces units being created in their image (such as Dead Cell and Black Chamber) throughout the world. In 2005, the unit was disbanded after their involvement in the "Shadow Moses Island" takeover, which also revealed about their experiments with gene therapy. Since then several tales of their members (most notably Solid Snake) has surfaced to the public, making the unit known as a "Phantom Ninja Squad".

Recurring Characters

Big Boss

FOX-HOUND's founder and commanding officer. The greatest soldier of the twentieth century. He was once an agent for FOX, a department in the U.S. Army, under code name "Naked Snake". He was given the title "Big Boss" after defeating and killing his defected mentor, The Boss. When the FOX unit disbanded, Big Boss founded FOX-HOUND to honor FOX's traditions. He disappeared when Solid Snake discovered that he was responsible for the creation of Metal Gear and the "fortress nation" of Outer Heaven, and later resurfaced in Zanzibar Land. He would be finally defeated and killed there by Solid Snake.

Colonel Roy Campbell

FOX-HOUND's commander following Big Boss's betrayal, during the incident in Zanzibar Land for example. A close friend of Solid Snake, he was brought out of retirement during the Shadow Moses incident to act as a figurehead and convince Solid Snake to assist in the operation.

Gray Fox

The only FOX-HOUND member ever to ascend to the codename "FOX". His real name is Frank Jaeger. He was the original agent assigned to infiltrate Outer Heaven, but in the process was kidnapped. He would eventually be rescued by Solid Snake and assist in demolishing Outer Heaven and the powerful Metal Gear. During the Zanzibar Land incident, he joins Big Boss in an attempt to rebuild Outer Heaven. Fox was also rumored to be the new Metal Gear's pilot. Solid Snake, who is interrogated to take the mission, comes to Zanzibar Land to stop Big Boss and Gray Fox. In a fight in a minefield, Solid Snake kills Gray Fox.

Several years later, FOX-HOUND rebels against the United States and attacks the nuclear weapons facility on Shadow Moses Island in Alaska. Solid Snake takes the mission to stop FOX-HOUND and destroy the most powerful Metal Gear yet, REX. Gray Fox, believed to be dead, mysteriously appears and helps Solid Snake destroy REX and stop Liquid Snake. However, during the fight with REX, he is truly killed.

Solid Snake

A living legend and FOX-HOUND's second greatest soldier, Solid Snake first entered FOX-HOUND as a rookie agent assigned to free Grey Fox from Outer Heaven and destroy Metal Gear. He disappeared following that incident, only to be "convinced" to come out of retirement to infiltrate both Zanzibar Land, and later, Shadow Moses. The revelation of Big Boss's treachery and his relation to the man, as well as the forced killing of his best friend, left him deeply embittered and cynical about himself and his "skills" as a soldier. He isolated himself to a log cabin in Alaska, and in order to stave off flashbacks and hallucinations, devoted himself to dog-mushing. The friendships and alliances he made at Shadow Moses, however, turned this around to an extent, and gave him a sense of purpose. Faked his own death and burial following Shadow Moses, and formed Philanthropy.

Liquid Snake

FOX-HOUND's squad leader during the Shadow Moses incident. Mastermind behind the "revolution" there as part of his life's goal to surpass Big Boss; he believed that the "soldier genes" he received from him were flawed, giving him a lifelong inferiority complex and a pathological hatred of Solid Snake, his twin brother and the true "inferior" one. Apparently invincible, surviving a helicopter crash, Metal Gear REX's destruction, a massive fall from the machine following a fist-fight, machine-gun fire during a jeep chase, and the subsequent crash. Killed by the FOXDIE virus.

Revolver Ocelot

A former member of the Ocelot unit in the Russian special forces, ejected following a failed coup d'etat. Recruited into FOX-HOUND by Big Boss, despite being responsible for the loss of his eye. A virtuoso gunfighter who uses a prized Colt Single Action Army revolver, hence his codename. Also a particularly cruel interrogator; he views this as a sport. Lost his right arm to Grey Fox during the Shadow Moses incident, later having Liquid Snake's arm grafted on. A persistent man; one wonders where his true loyalties lie.

Johnny Sasaki

A spectacularly unfortunate member of the Genome Army who catches a cold, is knocked unconscious and stripped naked by Meryl Silverburgh, and suffers chronic diarrhea from his time guarding Solid Snake's cell in Shadow Moses to his appearance on the Big Shell.

Master Miller

McDonell Miller

Bio:

Real Name: McDonell Miller Alias: Master Nationality: Japanese-American Height: 178 cm Weight: 85 kg Age: 50's Family: Catherine -daughter- Voice Actor: Cam Clarke

Appearances: Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (not really though) Information:

Master Miller was born in the United States 60 years after his grandparents immigrated there from Japan (he is half-Japanese). He served as a survival master in SAS (Special Air Service, a special operations group, of Britain), The Green Beret Squad, US Marine boot camp, and most recently also Fox-Hound. He is also volunteered as a coach in MERC SCHOOL (Mercenary School) twice a year but since retired. When he served as a drill sergeant in the Fox-Hound, he was referred to as a 'Hell Master' and draftees called him "Master Miller" with the utmost respect. Solid Snake probably met him while in Fox-Hound's boot camp.

He divorced his first wife (Nadine), and resided in Los Angeles with his daughter (Catherine) while serving as an adviser for Fox-Hound during Campbell's days in the unit. After the Uprising of Zanzibar and Colonel Campbell's retirement, Miller retired as well and moved to Alaska (I guess his daughter left or something *shrugs*). He sometimes trained the Alaskan scouts during his free time. However, three days before the terrorist takeover of Shadow Moses, Master was attacked and murdered in his home. Liquid Snake, the terrorist leader, then assumed Master's identity and posed as him during Snake's mission on Shadow Moses Island.

A member of Dead Cell. When he was young boy, he almost died in a church bombing incident. Several days afterward, he was found alive in the rubble.
