Fade to Black (song) - Definition and Overview |
Fade To Black is a controversial song by heavy metal band Metallica. The song comes in Metallica's album Ride the Lightning, the theme of the song is about a person who wants to commit a suicide, something that clarifies this statement is the part in the lyric that says: "Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye" or the part "I have lost the will to live simply nothing more to give". However, an interesting thing to note is that the band members wrote this song after almost all of their equipment was stolen at a concert in Boston.
It was regarded as the first "soft" song that Metallica released. It begins with an acoustic guitar and ends a little heavy, most of the songs of Ride The Lightning were heavy, but this is like the counterpart of all and after all is a good song and has its heavy side.
