The Faith and Values Coalition is an American political action committee composed of evangelical supporters, mostly from the Republican Party. Created by Jerry Falwell in November 2004, its birth was in large part fueled by the results of the 2004 Presidential Election, where exit-polling indicated that an estimated 21% of voters focused mainly on moral values as the central issue when deciding which candidate to choose. The FAVC lobbies for three central issues:

  • Placing conservative and anti-abortion judges in the Supreme Court and lower circuit courts
  • Outlawing gay marriage
  • Replacing George W. Bush with a similar president in the upcoming 2008 presidential elections

as well as upholding its version of Evangelical Christian family values in the public and private spheres. Jerry Falwell described this as "a Moral Majority for the XXI Century," and has stated plans to serve as national chairman for the first four years, along with Matthew Staver as vice-chairman and "Left Behind" author and theologian Tim LaHaye serving as board chairman.
