Famous Monsters of Filmland was a magazine started in 1958 by Ray Ferry, who later went on to make such semi-spinoff magazines as Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella, each of which enjoyed pretty good success. These three titles differed from Famous Monsters of filmland, which was about horror movies and of course the monsters featured within them, in that Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella were comic book stories, Creepy coming first, then Eerie, then Vampirella. Famous Monsters of Filmland ran throughout the sixties and is still around today. It contained pictures, interviews, and articles.
