Faron Young was born in 1932 near Shreveport, LA. He had a poplar and long running career. Nicknamed "the hillbilly heartthrob", and "the singing sherrif", Faron had many hits including, "if you ain't lovin'", " sweet dreams", "alone with you", "country girl", and many others. Faron Young died on December 9, 1996 after he shot himself.
