History.

Founded by Greeks, Feodosiya was a prosperous port until ruined by the Huns in the 4th century AD. It revived under Genoese rule in the 13th century, who perchased it from the Golden Horde. When the Genoese started meddling in the internal affairs of the Crimean Khanate, the Ottoman commander Gedik Ahmet Pasha conquered it in 1475, making it one of the most important Turkish ports in the Black Sea.

It was ceded to Russia in 1783 and was under Nazi Germany occupation during World War II.
