Fetch - Definition and Overview |
Fetch is a term for the length of water over which a given wind has blown. It is used in geography and is usually associated with coastal erosion. It plays a large part in Longshore Drift too.
Example: The winds which travel from the East coast of America and hit the west coast of Ireland would have an extremely large fetch.
Fetch is a game played between a human and a pet in which the human throws an object for the pet to catch and/or retrieve.
In Computer architecture, fetch is also a pipeline stage of a processor. It fetches instructions from a memory or cache and feeds them to the rest of the pipeline.
Fetch is a closed source FTP client for Mac OS X made by Fetch Softworks.
