Field crickets hatch in Spring, and the young crickets known as nymphs eat and grow rapidly. They shed their skin eight or more times befor the are adults. Crickets eat a broad range of feeds: seeds, plants, insects dead or alive and will even practice cannabalism if they are hungry. When looking for a mate the crickets rub their legs and 'sing' to attract a mate.
