Filthy, Rich and Catflap - Definition and Overview

Filthy, Rich and Catflap was a six part BBC sitcom produced in 1987.

The comedy starred Nigel Planer, Rick Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as its three title characters, who had previously worked together in The Young Ones. The style of humour in it - relying heavily on fart jokes, broad satire and vulgarity in general - is very similar to that which Edmonson and Mayall would continue in the far more successful Bottom. The series enjoyed a new surge in interest in 2004 when it was officially released on DVD. One particular episode involved Mayall suggesting The Nolan Sisters took a shower with him!
