Firesign Theater - Definition and Overview

Firesign Theater is a comedy troupe, most famous for their radio and album works. Much of their comedy is cultural satire and is filled with word play and lends itself to multiple listenings as the jokes are often densely packed and multi-layered. The group was formed in 1966 and still tours today. The troupe consists of Phil Austin, Peter Bergman, David Ossman, and Phil Proctor.
