Flecknoe Flecknoe

Flecknoe - Definition and Overview

Flecknoe is a village in the Rugby district of Warwickshire, England. The village is within the parish of Wolfhampcote and has a population of around 200.

Flecknoe is quite an isolated village, being several miles from the nearest main road (the A425 Southam - Daventry road) and is connected only by narrow lanes. Flecknoe has a pub and a small church.

Although in Warwickshire, Flecknoe is close to the border with Northamptonshire and is closer to Daventry than to Rugby.

Surprisingly, Flecknoe once had a railway station on the former Weedon to Leamington Spa branch line. Although the station was actually located over a mile north of the village and was effectively in the middle of nowhere. The station was an early victim of closure, closing in around 1950, although the line survived until 1963 carrying freight.
