Florian Schneider-Esleben (born April 7th, 1947, Düsseldorf, Germany) is one of the founding members of electronic music legends, Kraftwerk. He founded Kraftwerk with Ralf Hütter in 1968 after studying at the Düsseldorf Music Conservatory. He played the flute in the band, as well as creating his own electronic flute. After the release of their 1974 album, "Autobahn," Kraftwerk did not find practical use for the flute. Schneider worked on effects, and perfecting the Robovox, in which one of the things Kraftwerk is most known by. He is known as the static, more secretive of the elusive duo.
Schneider currently lives in Düsseldorf, and has a daughter.
