Fordham is a neighborhood in The Bronx, New York. Home to Fordham University and the legendary Arthur Avenue/Belmont area, Fordham runs from about 183rd Street to 196th Street and Kingsbridge Road and from the Harlem River to the Bronx River. It includes the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden. It is also the site of the Poe Cottage, a one-time residence of Edgar Allan Poe, located at the corner of Kingsbridge Road and Grand Concourse. Fordham's main thoroughfares are Fordham Road, Kingsbridge Road, Grand Concourse, and Webster Avenue. Unfortunately, the area has been plagued by high crime rates in recent years, which has caused the Belmont area to shrink.
