Fox Entertainment Group - Definition and Overview

Fox Entertainment Group (NYSE: FOX (http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=FOX)) is an American entertainment industry company that owns film studios and broadcast, cable and direct broadcast satellite television properties. It's 83% owned and controlled by American (formerly Australian) News Corporation.

It is named after William Fox, born Wilhelm Fried, who created the original Fox Film Corporation.
