Francis Barrett - Definition and Overview

Francis Barrett was a 17th Century Englishman who claimed to be a student of chemistry, metaphysics and natural occult philosophy.

His best known work was The Magus which purported to be a handbook on the occult and magic and may have influenced famous novelist Edward Bulwer-Lytton and author Eliphas Levi.
