Frank Black (album) - Definition and Overview |
Frank Black is Pixies frontman Frank Black's first solo album. It was released in 1993. It is quite similar in theme and style to the last 80s/90s Pixies recordings found on the album, Trompe le Monde, featuring, as they both do, a large amount of synthetics and a focus on themes such as UFO's/Science Fiction.
Vocals, Guitar - Frank Black
Bass, Keyboards, Synthetics - Eric Drew Feldman
Drums, Percussion - Nick Vincent
The album features additional guitars by, amongst others, Joey Santiago, another member of the Pixies. Eric Drew Feldman also played keyboards on the Pixies' Trompe le Monde, and is apparently the "Alec Eiffel" referred to on the record.
The album was released by 4AD, the same company to release all the early Pixies material.
