Frank Rosolino - Definition and Overview

Frank Rosolino (August 20 1926 - November 26 1978) was a jazz trombonist.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Rosolino took up the trombone in his teens. Following service in the World War II, he played with both Bob Chester's, Glen Gray's and Gene Krupa's big bands. He later went on to play with Stan Kenton, Benny Carter, Med Flory and Quincy Jones.

He died in 1978 in Los Angeles, California, committing suicide after shooting both of his children.
