Frank Thornton was born Frank Thornton Ball on January 15, 1921. He's a British actor best known as Captain Peacock on the longest running BBC series Are You Being Served? from 1972-1985, and later reprise his role for Grace and Favour (aka Are You Being Served? Again in the USA from 1992-1993.
Later played Truly on Last of The Summer Wine.
