Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist - Definition and Overview

Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist is a comic Old West adventure game created by Al Lowe, the creator of Leisure Suit Larry series, and published by Sierra On-Line. It was dubbed "the Blazing Saddles of computer games" by Computer Gaming Magazine.

In the game, the player takes the role of a pharmacist in Coarsegold, California. He was quite the gunslinger, but his pride, as well as an ear, was lost in a gunfight against a kid named Kenny.

The game is full of colorful characters, such as Whittlin' Willy, Srini (an actual Indian, from India), Freddy's gal, the schoolmarm Penelope Primm, Madamme O'Varee the wench and, of course, Freddy himself. The game's manual was entitled The Modern Day Book of Health and Hygiene.
