Frederick Keys - Definition and Overview

The Frederick Keys are the "High-A" class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Keys play in the Carolina League and are based in Frederick, Maryland, which is in Frederick County. The franchise is named for Francis Scott Key, a native of Frederick County. The Keys play their games at Harry Grove Stadium. For many years, the franchise was known as the Hagerstown Suns, before moving to Frederick in 1989. The team mascot is a coyote known as Keyote. The team is currently owned by the Comcast cable network.
