Frederick William Vanderbilt (February 2 1856 – February 2 1938) was a member of the prominent United States Vanderbilt family.
The third son of William Henry Vanderbilt, and the last survivor of the four sons, Frederick William was the only one to leave a greater estate than he inherited from his father. He had no children.
He was a director of the New York Central Railroad for 61 years. He lived for a while at 450 Fifth Avenue (at 40th Street) in New York, the home his father had vacated for 640 Fifth Avenue in the early 1880s. His 600 acre (2.4 km²) country home in Hyde Park, New York was called simply Hyde Park, and is now a museum, the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.
