In the Star Trek fictional universe, a Freedom class starship is one of a group of vessels constructed according to the same design and used by the Starfleet military/exploratory organization. The Freedom class of ship follows a highly unusual design: the primary hull is an elliptical saucer with a pylon running downward and aftward from its bottom and attaching to a single Galaxy class nacelle.
