The French Academy in Rome (French: Académie de France à Rome) is an Academy located in the Villa Medici, within the Villa Borghese, in Rome, Italy.

History

The Academy was founded in 1666, under the impulsion of Colbert, Le Brun et and du Bernin. It initially housed the winners Prix de Rome and artists sponsored by some princes.
