Friedrich Kratochwil - Definition and Overview

Friedrich Kratochwil studied at the University of Munich before migrating to the United States. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton. One of his famous books is Rules, Norms and Decisions, introducing constructivism to the discipline marking a landslide in the study of International Relations. After some decades in the United States crossing the Atlantic again he teached at the University of Munich. Currently professor of International Relations at the European University Institute in Florence he was editor of the European Journal of International Relations and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, Member of the Editorial Board of International Studies Quarterly, Elected Member of the Editorial Board of International Organization, Member of the Editorial Board of International Organization, Member of the Editorial Board of World Politics and Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Millennium.
