Frontier Flying Service is a Fairbanks, Alaska, USA-based commuter airline, which provides regularly scheduled passenger and postal services to Alaska bush communities, primarily north of Fairbanks, as well as charter services to the lower 48 and Canada.
Frontier has two hubs, one in Fairbanks, and one in Anchorage.
History
Frontier Flying Service was established in 1950 by retired Air Force Colonel Richard McIntyre, catering to Alaska bush communities as a scheduled mail carrier for Wien Airlines, as well as providing charters throughout Alaska.
In 1974, Frontier was purchased by John Hajdukovich.

Confusion with Frontier Airlines
Frontier Flying Service is occasionally confused with Denver-based Frontier Airlines, because of the similarity in name. Passengers at Anchorage International Airport are especially prone to this confusion, because both Frontiers fly out of this airport, albeit from different terminals.
