Fukuyama, Hiroshima - Definition and Overview

Fukuyama (福山市; -shi) is a city located in Hiroshima, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 405,303 and the density of 942.00 persons per km². The total area is 430.26 km². After Hiroshima city it is the largest city in Hiroshima ken and is located on the far east side of the ken. The City's symbol is the rose and it holds an annual 'Rose' festival in May.

The city was founded on July 1, 1916.
