The funbox is a box in the snow which snowboarders will go over and off of doing various stunts and tricks. A variation on the funbox is the battleship box.
The funbox originates from skateboarding. A basic funbox is simply a wedge (ramp) from which you can propel yourself skywards with, to gain air to do tricks and stunts. They are generally made from wood or metal.
A funbox is not limited to one ramp, in most circumstances (in a skateparks) they consist of many ramps leading up to a box, this box can also contain an array of rails / ledges.
The name "funbox" comes from a box on which to have fun. If you see hurling yourself off a ramp at speed on your chariot of choice fun!
