G-block G-block

G-block - Definition and Overview

The g-block of the periodic table of elements consists of those elements for which, in the atomic ground state, the highest-energy electrons occupy g-orbitals. No elements belonging to the g-block have been discovered, but its existence is predicted by a model well-established in quantum mechanics.
