In the anime series Gundam Seed, the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam is the most versatile of the five mobile suits created by the Alliance's G project. Because of its bright blue and white color scheme, the Strike Gundam was easily the most visually distinctive of the five (with the possible exception of the magenta-colored GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam). Using its Striker Packs, the Strike Gundam can be outfitted for all-range combat (Aile Strike), heavy assault (Launcher Strike) or heavy melee combat (Sword Strike).
Three Strike Gundams were built: the first Strike Gundam was piloted by Kira Yamato; it was destroyed in battle in CE June 71 against Athrun Zala in the Aegis Gundam. After Kira stole the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam from ZAFT and the subsequent defection of the Archangel crew to the Orb Union in early July, the second Strike Gundam (built partially with materials salvaged from the remains of the first) became the personal mobile suit of ace pilot Lt. Commander Mu La Flaga. A third Strike Gundam, called the MBF-02 Strike Rouge, was built by Orb and piloted into battle by Cagalli Yula Athha. This Gundam was nearly identical to the first, its only major difference being that its Phase Shift armor was red and white (due to minor improvements in the efficiency of the PS system) rather than blue and white.

Operational Fate
- GAT-X105 Unit 1 (Kira Yamato's unit) served onboard Archangel until June, when it was destroyed in battle with Athrun Zala's GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam. Kira, in the process of escaping, was blown clear of the unit and spent the next month recovering under the care of Lacus Clyne. (There is some uncertanity about this, however - in the Astray side story, Kira was actually retrieved from the ruined Strike by Junk Guild technician Lowe Gear.)
- GAT-X105 Unit 2 (Mu La Flaga's unit) was built in Orb to a completely unaltered design, using the destroyed remnants of Unit 1 as a base. This unit was given to Mu La Flaga upon Archangel's return to Orb, and was his personal mobile suit from July to its destruction in November by a positron beam cannon blast from Dominion.
- MBF-02 Unit 1 (Cagalli Yula Athha's unit) was built on Kusanagi to a slightly modified design. This unit was piloted into battle by Cagalli during the Second Battle of Jachin Due on 2 November. It remains operational at least as of early Cosmic Era year 73.
Model Kits
The Strike Gundam is one of the most extensively modeled mobile suits in Gundam Seed, with no fewer than six High Grade kits (at least three 1/144, two 1/100 and one 1/60), four standard grade kits (all 1/144), a High Grade SEED-MSV Strike Rouge w/ IWSP Unit, 2 Master Grade kits out (including Strike Rouge), 2 Super-Deformed (SD) models (one is only the Strike Gundam and the other is the Strike Gundam with the Striker Weapons System (SWS)), a metal-material kit (Launcher and Sword), a quick-build model (Strike and Strike Rouge), and a Perfect Grade kit on the way in November 2004.
