Gainesville High School is a high school in Gainesville, Florida.
The first Gainesville High School, Florida was established in 1906 as was conducted in the present Primary School Building. The construction for the second and current school was completed in 1923.
Today, GHS' student-run school newspaper is called Eye of the Storm. GHS also has a Web site on the Internet, also completely managed by students.
The Gainesville High School is also known by GHS and the Purple Hurricanes ('Canes).
