Gelou (translated into Romanian as Gelu, into Hungarian as Gyalú) was, according to the Gesta Hungarorum, a leader of Vlachs and Slavs in Transylvania during the time of the Magyar occupation of the Carpathian basin in 896. He was killed by the warriors of the Magyar chieftain Tétény (Tuhutum in the original Latin).
