Georgian in Iran - Definition and Overview

The Georgian language is used by some people in Iran. The center of Georgians in Iran is a small city to the west of Isfahan, Iran's second largest city, named Fereydoon Shahr.

In many other places such as Najaf Abad, Rahmat Abad (near Isfahan) and Orji Mahalle in northern Iran, there are ethnic Georgians, but they do not speak the Georgian language.

The Georgian alphabet is also known in Fereydoon Shahr.

Some Georgian expressions include

Sopelea - Fereydoon Shahr
raseak - How are you?
me tsavel chons - I went home.
me meaghors chon ena daysthavlo - I like to learn our language.

Maybe the following is meant:

Sopelea - sopelia - this is a village
raseak - raze [hart] ak? - why are you here
me tsavel chons - me ts'aval chem [sahlshi] - I'll go [home].
me meaghors chon ena daysthavlo - me momts'ons chemi ena dawists'avlo - I like to learn my language.
