Missing image Geraint.jpg Geraint Davies MP Geraint Davies served as a councillor for New Addington on Croydon Council from 1986 until his resignation in 1997 upon being elected as an MP. He was Council Leader and Chair of Housing. In Parliament, Geraint Davies is a Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Department for Constitutional Affairs. His work has focused on the environment, family issues, combating domestic violence and dealing with anti-social behaviour. He has become known for his work speaking up for the legal rights of prisoners at the US Base at Guantanamo Bay, including his constituent, Feroz Abbasi. Geraint Davies has an office in Ruskin House, Croydon. Geraint was born in Chester and attended Llanishen comprehensive school in Cardiff. He earned a degree at Jesus College, Oxford. Before becoming an MP, Geraint Davies had worked in marketing and set up his own business providing traditional village accommodation in Western Crete, Greece.
