James Gerald Douglas Howarth (born 12 September 1947, Hurley, Berkshire) is a United Kingdom politician. He is Conservative member of Parliament for Aldershot.

He had previously been MP for Cannock and Burntwood from 1983 to 1992, and then was re-elected for Aldershot in 1997.

A qualified pilot, Howarth worked in banking before entering Parliament. He is known for his right wing views on immigration and the economy, being a member of the Thatcherite No Turning Back group and a vocal opponent of the arrest of the former Chilean leader Augusto Pinochet in 1998.
