Gerry Conway - Definition and Overview

Gerry Conway is an American writer of comic books. He is best known for his runs on Amazing Spider-Man in the 1970s (which included the death of Gwen Stacy) and on Justice League of America in the 1970s and 1980s (which included the co-creation of the atomic-powered superhero Firestorm).

He was only nineteen years old when he began writing Amazing Spider-Man. While praised for having had such talent that he was recognized at such a young age, he has also been criticized for not having had the maturity (at the time) to properly develop Gwen Stacy's character and thus deciding to kill her off.

Gerry Conway is a British rock drummer, best known for having performed with the band Jethro Tull.
