Gitanas is a Mexican telenovela which has been airing on the Spanish language television network Telemundo since 2004.
It follows the forbidden love of María Salomé a Roma (a Gypsy), played by Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera, and a gayé (non-Roma) Sebastián, played by Colombian actor Manolo Cardona, and the supposed curse their love will bring to their respective families in the fishing village of Malaribo in Baja California.
Other important characters include Salomé's grandmother and Mother Jovanka, Rafael Domínguez, Doña Victoria Domínguez, Patriarca, Jonás and his father Drago, Parde Domínguez, Sachenka and her (María Salomé's) other sister, as well as the iconic image of Saint Sarah.
It airs at 9PM EST and PST.
