Glenville State College is a small four-year college located in Glenville, West Virginia which is in rural north-central West Virginia. It has about 1,500 students. The primary major is elementary and secondary education, however other majors are available.
The school was founded at the Glenville branch of the state normal school in 1872. It became a full four-year college under its current name in 1931.
In recent years the school has experienced a continued enrollment decline, leading many to question the future viability of the school.
In athletics, the school's teams are known as the Pioneers and compete in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
