Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack is a movie in the Godzilla series. The movie was released in 2001.

The original japanese title of the movie is Gojira, Mosura, Kingu Gidorâ: Daikaijû sôkôgeki.

Storyline

When Godzilla poses another threat to Tokyo, the ancient gods (Baragon, Mothra and King Ghidorah) that protect Japan rise and fight him.

Notable features

With outstanding special effects and battle scenes, this is regarded by some as the best Godzilla movie of the Millenium series so far.

This movie is especially notable for the changes made to the monsters. For example, King Ghidora (aka Monster Zero) typically played the villain in previous Godzilla movies; this movie has him as a hero. In fact, he changes forms slightly until he bears a resemblence to his former villanous self.

In addition, the radioactive element has been underplayed in favor of a more mythic/spiritual dimension. Now the monsters have their origins rooted in Japan's bloody (WWII) past. Even though Godzilla retains his radioactive nature, he is also described as an incarnation of the lives yearning for revenge.
