The Gowanus Expressway is an expressway in the Borough of Brooklyn, City of New York. A part of I-278, it connects the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and Belt Parkway (at 65th Street) with the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. The portion north of its junction with the Belt Parkway is a reconstruction of the former Gowanus Parkway, a cars-only highway.
