Grace, released September 8, 1994 (see 1994 in music), the first and only complete studio album by Jeff Buckley. What the album intially lacked in sales, it more than made up for with critical acclaim. Influences range from the subtle, such as "So Real" and "Dream Brother" from Jeff Buckley's father, Tim Buckley, to the extreme, such as the heavy Middle-Eastern chordal progression in "Grace" and Nick Drake-influenced "Eternal Life". Every year the album gains more fans and larger support from people around the world, including several popular musicians, such as Thom Yorke of Radiohead and Matt Bellamy of Muse, who acknowledge to being influenced.
In 1998 Q magazine readers voted Grace the 75th greatest album of all time; in 2003 the TV network VH1 placed it at number 73.
In 2002 the haunting tune Hallelujah, was used in season finale of The West Wing, [Posse Comitatus (http://westwing.bewarne.com/third/3-23posse.html)].
