Gradisca (also Gradisca d'Isonzo) is a town in north-eastern Italy in the Friuli region. Although said to have been founded by the Venetians in the 15th century, the town name is a Slavic toponym, Gradisce being a Slovenian term indicating a site where buildings have been constructed.
