Greater Poland Uprising of 1848 (Polish: powstanie wielkopolskie 1848 roku) was a military insurection of the Polish people in the Grand Duchy of Poznań (or the Greater Poland region) against the occupying Prussian forces, during the Spring of Nations period.
It was held under the political leadership of the National Comitee in Poznań (Komitet Narodowy w Poznaniu). After the military victories in the battles of Miłosław and Sokołów the leadership left wing attempted to develop the guarilla war into the people's war, while the right wing tried to negotiate more autonomy for the Grand Duchy of Poznań. The act of capitulation was signed on 9 May 1848.
