Greektown - Definition

Greektown is a small part of downtown Detroit that is only composed of a few city blocks. Many restaurants located on Monroe Street in Greektown serve Greek cuisine. The restaurants in that district have a theme with artwork referencing famous Greek structures (e.g. Parthenon, Pegasus, etc.). Greektown has restaurants by the name of Pegasus, Hella's, Pizza Papalis, etc. The Detroit People Mover cuts through the Greektown district.

Greek music is played on Monroe street. Monroe street is lined with poor people, musicians, and artists that beg for money. Greektown is also home to Greektown casino (1 of 3 casinos in Detroit).
