Greenwood County (standard abbreviation: GW) is a county located in the state of Kansas. As of 2000, the population is 7,673. Its county seat is Eureka, Kansas6.

There are 3,234 households out of which 27.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.50% are married couples living together, 6.60% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.40% are non-families. 30.30% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.31 and the average family size is 2.86. In the county the population is spread out with 23.70% under the age of 18, 6.50% from 18 to 24, 23.20% from 25 to 44, 23.70% from 45 to 64, and 22.80% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 95.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.50 males. The median income for a household in the county is $30,169, and the median income for a family is $38,140. Males have a median income of $27,021 versus $19,356 for females. The per capita income for the county is $15,976. 12.50% of the population and 8.20% of families are below the poverty line.
