Greg Tingle is the "Media Man": an Airlie Beach, Whitsundays based public and media relations consultant, celebrity property developer, publicist and promoter, TV presenter, journalist, radio broadcaster, Internet author, and an all round media entrepreneur and man of business brilliance.

Greg's colourful career reads blue collar meets red blooded entrepreneur.

From truck driver, Sydney Water Board worker, Optus Vision Salesperson & Manager, Telstra Business Manager to property promoter extraordinaire and founder of Media Man Australia www.mediaman.com.au, Greg has proved himself as a multi-dimensional and multi-talented professional.

Greg's commercial acumen coupled with his myriad of media and business skills have seen him achieve results for a lengthy list of clients - from the who's who of Australia, to multimillion dollar property investors and media magnates. These are but one of many accomplishments which led Greg to establish and operate Media Man Australia, an Australian media and public relations company and news media broadcasting portal.

Greg reports on matters of public interest and those that he is passionate about- the community, crime, the media business, technology, the entertainment sector, and sports entertainment, aka professional wrestling. Recently, Greg has also taken to writing book reviews and biographies on many of Australia's top media figures, and in recent times has published articles on property investment opportunities in places such as Airlie and regional Queensland and New South Wales.

Previously residing in Bob Carr's home electorate; Greg has found there was never a shortage of news to report on. This included crime waves in his suburb, Multiplex spoiling the beachfront with a 5 story plus high rise, and the Bra Boys latest antics. Now he regularly commutes between Sydney - Brisbane - Airlie Beach.

Greg's "break" in the media business came about in an unusual manner - he called John Laws at 2UE in September 2000, as a "call in" to report on "the inside story" at the Olympic Village, where he was an Olympic volunteer, in the technology division. Little did he realise that this was a "coup" of sorts at the time. Since that time Greg has been heard and mentioned on numerous Australian radio stations such as 2UE, 2GB, ABC, 3AK, 98.5FM, 2CC and Nova 96.9.

In fact, Greg has a history of community participation, including 3 years in the Australian Army Reserve, where he attained "Most Improved Recruit"; The Sydney Marathon, Channel 31 Community TV, 2RDJ Community Radio, Maroubra Chamber of Commerce and The Community Initiatives Group about which Greg wrote an article, in August 2002. This made the front-page of Sydney's "Southern Courier", Jump on Board.

June 2002 saw Greg enroll in News Media and Journalism at Petersham TAFE, at great personal and financial sacrifice, and he hasn't looked back.

One month later Greg found himself quoted in the media section of "The Australian", regarding his second on-air discussion with John Laws. This was also "brushed over" by the ABC's "Media Watch", a program of which Greg is an avid fan. Having worked for both Optus and Telstra in the past, Greg asked Laws, "can I mention what company I prefer", and he was given permission. Obviously he took advantage of the media exposure. Greg claims he knows things about both companies that will make the "COTTS cases" look like a "picnic in the park". He says. "It's actually a paragraph for my book in the making, "Don't Bullshit a Bullshitter - From Newport Boy to Media Man".

Greg's book review of Derryn Hinch's, That's Life, in March 2003, received publication on Derryn's official website.

By this time Greg had launched his very own news media website, which is a culmination of his media achievements, showcased on the web, as well as acting as a portal to Australian and international media.

Aiming to have his own talk or reality show on an Australian network or subscriber channel, Greg is currently involved in audience participation and research, appearing in shows such as Andrew Denton's "Enough Rope". Greg also enjoys popping up occasionally on TV series like White Collar Blue, where he played a mean gangster. Greg explained, "going debt collecting with "Big" Tim Bristow and "Tricky" Ricky Tingle certainly gave me the right background".

Greg has interviewed such illustrious personalities as long time journalist and broadcaster, Phillip Adams, Derryn Hinch, Max Markson, Harry M. Miller, John Stavrou, Ash Long, Steve A'hern, Rebecca Wilson, Dan Kennedy, Danny Schechter "The Media Dissector", Phil Tripp, Johnny Valiant and Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

July 2003 saw Greg take it to the next level, with in-depth interviews with "legal eagles" like Derrick Wilding (Communications Law Centre) and Lee Tien (Electronic Frontier Foundation). The Boston Phoenix's media section and J.D. Lasica's New Media Musings, even gave Media Man Australia a positive mention.

Sydneysiders could well have seen, or rather heard, Greg speaking at numerous media and entertainment functions, such as The Australian Media Forum, Communications Law Centre, Friends of the ABC, Essan Laurent Industry Nights and Media Central.

Greg is a self confessed media and entertainment junkie, and he spends his spare time on the Internet and on some of the world's most beautiful beaches, such as Seal Rocks and Airlie.

Late July 2003 saw Greg attain his News Media and Journalism Certificate III at Petersham TAFE, with distinctions in Internet Design, Audience Profiling and Radio Broadcasting - surprise, surprise!

One month later, in August 2003, the Australian government showed strong support for Greg's media endeavors, with his acceptance into the NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) program for business entrepreneurs. Greg also organised media coverage for the NEIS graduation day, resulting in an article and photo in The Wentworth Courier.

October 2003 saw business rise to a new level with Greg being approached to host "Talking Television" on Melbourne Radio and M.C of the Annual Maroubra Fun Run. At the same time, H'it'! TV, a new exciting Australian Reality TV show signed Greg up in the role of judge and online public relations consultant. Could this be the start of a run in the speakers circuit? With deals done, and more on the way, with Markson Sparks! and ICMI, this appears a natural progression.

Shortly thereafter, one of Greg's articles, The Great Aussie Promoters, received strong industry support, that resulted in many written testimonials that further reinforced the Australian governments desire to provide Media Man Australia a grant. "X" thousand dollars doesn't lie!

2004 was always going to be a huge year, but with the signing up of "The World's Largest Steer" (TWLS), merelyplayers (FBi Radio and 2RDJ interview and Wentworth Courier article), and AWF Pro Wrestling, in the January - February period, this season is set to be the most successful yet.

In the same month the Media Man Australia merchandising division expanded, with black and gold "Media Man" t-shirts becoming available for sale and distribution to key clients.

February also saw the caricaturing and cartooning division expand, with a deal arranged with Tony Rafty OAM to add to the already impressive portfolio, including Cagle Cartoons of MSN Slate.

Next up was an alliance with the Filmfestivals Entertainment Group in April, and IMMM in May, to assist Greg in the marketing of his film director clients. This also assisted in the promotion of "Gang Of Four", "Publicity Stunt", "Australian Entrepreneur", "The Rules", "Volunteer", "The California Kid", "Northern Safari", SmashPOP, and "The Arrow Catcher" aka "Reaction Extreme Trainer" Anthony Kelly.

At the same time national media attention was achieved for his client, Vena McGrath, author of 'Secrets, Lies and Chat', in the ICON section of The Sydney Morning Herald, and Channel 31's plight ('More Than Just Joy's World') being published in The South Sydney Herald.

May saw Media Man Australia's property interests expand, with the representation of La Mercia Developments on Queensland's Whitsunday Islands, promotion of Realty International, and a creative studio deal at Woolloomooloo. Furthermore, he showcased his property and investments portfolio online, resulting in even more success, driven from outside investors and entrepreneurs.

Late June saw "Hottest On TV" come on board. This gave MMA a perfect vehicle to approach major sponsors, and shortly thereafter, a working agreement with the Coastal News Network and Coastal Watch was established, in line with investments and dealings in regional and rural Australia. Greg has also been published in regional and rural press, in addition to gaining for his clients print and radio news coverage in regional Australia.

August - September was notable for many of Greg's sports clients who achieved coverage on ABC TV and radio, including Steve "Crusher" Rackman ('Mondo Thingo'), Anthony Kelly and John Novak. At the same time, his flagship aviation client, Airview Aerial Photography received excellent coverage in the popular newspaper, The Manly Daily.

The last quarter of 2004 is being predominantly spent based in Airlie Beach, where Greg is working with a number of blue chip property developer clients, in the media, video production and marketing realm. He also achieved national and international coverage for the crocodile hunter, Mick Pitman, who was interviewed by 'Today' (Channel Nine), 'Today Tonight' (Channel Seven), RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong), The Mirror (UK) and more.

Within days of settling foot on Airlie Beach (for the second time), Greg booked Ita Buttrose into the upcoming Grant Broadcaster's conference, "Slamming" Sam Kekovich into the Nestle sales seminar in Melbourne, followed up by Lascorp Developments, and has facilitated business dealings between Max Markson and John Stavrou. His prime project on Airlie is the media campaign for La Mercia Developments - Developments Of Distinction, and he enjoys solid relationships with the regions other investment and entertainment entrepreneurs and newsmakers. His strategic business arrangement with Tourism Whitsundays saw a virtually seamless relocation and entry into the Whitsundays thriving business community.

December 2004 saw Media Man Australia secure his "dream client" - Bob Winstead's 'Entrepreneurs' The Reality Show, where Greg enjoys being the Chief Media Consultant for its worldwide distribution. 'Entrepreneur$' is largely a concept that Greg thought of some 2 years ago, but didn't have the resources available at the time to capture it on video. The program is set to make a debut on FOX 50 in the U.S, and Greg will see 'Entrepreneur$' picked up by a major Australian television network. As Greg explained to Bob Winstead, "The only thing missing in our operation here down under is the video cameras".

Greg sees 'Entrepreneur$' perfectly blending in with his client base and associates and the early media and sponsoring interest has been phenomenal.

Australians and indeed the world, will continue to hear Greg's thoughts on everything of local, national and international interest. Greg proudly proclaims, "I say things others might think, but are afraid to say. I don't say them, I shout them - out loud".Greg's company slogan is "Putting your name out there!", and he continues to do it for himself and his clients.

Greg is banking on his life experience, desire and impressive media and government support, to bring his goal of becoming a true player in the Australian public relations and media business to fruition by the conclusion of 2004. Many will argue that he is already there.

Greg's abilities and crusades are nothing short of dogged, driven and relentless. Greg has been described by people in the top echelons of the media and entertainment industry as passionate, personable, and professional due to his high degree of integrity and ability. These tags are all qualities Greg carries with pride.

This Media Man's relatively short life has been typified by some startling and bizarre accomplishments and experiences. His list, style and achievements stretch the realms of any ordinary imagination. From showbiz to Media Man, Greg is a (very loud!) walking, talking media blitzing sensation. If you are game enough for the ride, then you will be game enough to see where this media man (power!) can take YOU!
