Grindelwald is a village in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Long famed as a tourist destination, it is the usual starting point for ascents of the Eiger and the Wetterhorn, and is there is much skiing in the winter.
A train from Grindelwald goes up to Kleine Scheidegg, where one may then connect to the Jungfraubahn that ascends inside the mountain.
