Article for Wikipedia Groovy Rednecks – A Los Angeles band The Groovy Rednecks are a band originated in Los Angeles, California. They have been called many things, but have maintained their hold on being a county band for people who hate country. The Rednecks consist of Tex Troester the vocalist who could really use some vocal lessons, Bob Ricketts the guitarist who is talented beyond his means, Ron Botelho the bassist and only band member with a child, Gary Riley, a guitarist, manolinist, and squeeze-boxist, and Jim Doyle, the relative newbie to the band filling in after Herman _________ left, deciding to persue other genres. Being together since 1991, the Rednecks have played over 400 shows, being themselves the entire time. You usually see them play drunk or getting close to it, and like their song are a Drinkin’ Band. The Band Tex Troester – Bob Ricketts – Ron Botelho- The oldest of the band, Ron Botelho is a native of the Los Angeles area. He has been in multiple bands including Blood On the Saddle … He has one daughter, Reno Botelho. His second marriage is approaching its second anniversary to Kathay Motte. Gary Riley – Jim Doyle- (Formerly) Herman ________- The CDs 'Buzzed' – I Guess I Was Buzzed 'Wishful Drinking' – I Give Up Easy 'Ass Grabbin’ Country' - Drinkin' Band Ass Grabbin’ Country is the latest release, and is the most personal of all three cds. For once the songs are not all about Tex Troester, instead deciding to try something new, having songs about each of the other band members also. My Girlfriends Got A Boyfriend is about Gary, Who Wears The Pants? is about Ron and his wife, and My Wife Got Hit By A Truck is about Bob and his wife. And of course as usual the rest of the songs are telling the life of Tex. |
