Group is a term used by different air forces for a unit of command. The size of this unit varies considerably between services.
In the United States Air Force a group is made up of several squadrons, and itself forms part of a wing.
In the Royal Air Force and other British-derived air forces a group is made up of several wings or stations, and itself forms part of the a major command. It is usually commanded by an air vice-marshal.
