Group of Six - Definition and Overview

The G6 or Group of Six was a coalition of the major industrial democracies, which met for the first time in 1975: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States. It evolved into the G7 with the addition of Canada, and then became the G8 with the addition of Russia.
